Toronto-based DJ and producer Andre Zimmer is making serious waves with his latest EP, Wait A Minute, landing on CRYME’s newly launched label, SEVEN. This label is already turning heads for its fresh and inclusive approach, and Zimmer’s contribution proves why it’s the talk of the scene. SEVEN kicked off with a killer debut release, featuring remixes from house heavyweights like Cinthie, Lydia Eisenblätter, and Obscure Shape, and Zimmer’s release takes things to the next level. Packed with ‘90s nostalgia and genre-bending beats, his EP perfectly embodies SEVEN’s motto: "Smile When You Dance."
It’s been a wild six months for Zimmer. His infectious sound has caught the attention of the likes of Dan Shake, Folamour, Job Jobse, and Interplanetary Criminal, while BBC Radio 1 has put him on heavy rotation. Not content with just one lane, Zimmer launched his own label, Big Trouble Records, with a stacked schedule of releases planned for 2025 and beyond. He’s also dropped a second EP with Shall Not Fade, a remix for Purple Disco Machine, and a standout mix for Peggy Gou’s Gudu Outpost. With this much momentum, it’s clear Zimmer is carving out his own lane in the global dance scene.

Zimmer’s latest EP is a masterclass in house music, blending nostalgia with a modern edge. Each track pulls from different sub-genres, creating a versatile sound that’s as fresh as it is dancefloor-ready.
The title track’s pounding 909 kick and relentless bassline make it a high-energy anthem straight out of the Berlin club scene. It’s made to ignite the dance floor. "Wait A Minute" gets a slick remix from Vitess, who brings his signature ‘90s-inspired deep house vibes. Lush pads, electro-synths, and hip-hop-infused vocals add layers to an already rich track.
Born from a jam session in Los Angeles, ‘‘Ice Lolly’’ fuses UK garage and speed garage flavours with a playful ‘90s tech-house twist. It’s funky, fresh, and irresistibly groovy. The final track, ‘‘Round Two,’’ takes you back to the warehouse rave era. Chunky basslines from a vintage Yamaha DX200, vinyl scratches, breakbeats, and a classic rave organ create a nostalgic, euphoric vibe.
SEVEN isn’t your typical record label—it’s a movement. With a focus on supporting queer and FLINTA* artists, it’s dedicated to creating an inclusive space while still delivering bangers. SEVEN’s doors are open to artists of all backgrounds, but its mission to amplify underrepresented voices sets it apart. Plus, the label is flipping the script on royalties. With a 70/30 split favoring producers and guaranteed minimum payouts, SEVEN is breaking away from the industry norm to give artists the support they deserve.

CRYME, SEVEN’s visionary head, explains: "Most underground releases struggle to recover their costs and producers often get paid nothing. We want to try and change that and we hope that this artist-first deal will encourage producers to give us their best work, and also help us to promote it so we can get them paid for their art." CRYME isn’t just running a label—he’s leading a global charge in house and techno.
Andre Zimmer’s EP on SEVEN is a love letter to house music’s roots while pushing it into the future. With his knack for blending vintage vibes with fresh ideas, Zimmer is quickly becoming one of the most exciting names in dance music. Backed by SEVEN’s inclusive ethos and innovative approach, this release is a win for both the artist and the scene. Zimmer isn’t just dropping tracks—he’s shaping the sound of tomorrow.
