Cat Cork, the incredibly talented singer-songwriter from Woy Woy, Australia, is back with his brand-new single, ‘Promise Me’. Known for pouring raw emotion into his music, Cat has outdone himself this time, delivering a heartfelt track that takes on a lighter, more uplifting vibe. With help from his long-time collaborator Cameron Taylor and a group of insanely talented musicians from across the globe, ‘Promise Me’ strikes a perfect balance between deeply personal storytelling and universal relatability.

This track was truly a global effort. Cat recorded the vocals and guitars in his home studio, while musicians from Brazil, the UK, Ireland, and Costa Rica worked remotely to add their touch. The lineup includes Pablo Arruda on bass, Ben Trigg on cello, Chris Barber and Horacio Paris on drums, and Joao Paulo Drumond on percussion. Cameron, who’s always been a key part of Cat’s creative team, oversaw the mix and production, pulling everything together into a lush, layered masterpiece. Late-night sessions, juggling time zones, and relentless creativity brought this song to life, making it a labour of love from start to finish.

‘Promise Me’ is more than just a new single—it’s a fresh start for Cat. After a darker, moodier album earlier in 2024, this track marks a shift towards a brighter, more hopeful sound. But don’t be fooled—it’s still got emotional depth. The song tells the story of a couple making a promise to prioritise their relationship over chasing big ambitions. There’s sweetness in the sentiment, but a hint of bittersweetness too. Is it about love and sacrifice, or control and compromise? That’s up to you to decide, and that bit of mystery is what keeps you coming back for another listen.

The video is shot on vintage Super 8 film by Milo Cawthorne and Ella Hope-Higginson. It’s a visual treat with an old-school vibe that perfectly matches the song’s nostalgic tone. Milo, known for Blood Punch, Guns Akimbo, and Power Rangers RPM, stars alongside Ella in a beautifully shot story that feels as intimate and tender as the song itself.

For Cat, ‘Promise Me’ is more than just a release—it’s a turning point in his artistic journey. It’s the first in a series of new tracks lined up for 2025, paving the way for a sound that’s lighter and more optimistic, while still staying true to his honest, emotional roots.

If you’re looking for music that’s warm, introspective, and a little bit nostalgic, ‘Promise Me’ is your go-to. Cat Cork is only just getting started on this exciting new chapter, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
