Sorry for the Inconvenience by Out of Order: Review
Out of Monroe, Georgia, Out of Order is more than a band—it’s a family affair. Three brothers and their cousin form this tight-knit group, and they’ve been rocking out together since their elementary school days. Their shared history has created a bond that fuels their music, resulting in a sound packed with passion and precision. Their debut EP, Sorry for the Inconvenience, is the culmination of years of jamming, growing, and perfecting their craft.
This EP isn’t just a debut—it’s a journey through punk rock’s vast and varied soundscape. Drawing inspiration from the legends while putting their own spin on things, each track has its own vibe and energy, tied together by the band’s raw chemistry and emotion.
It kicks off with a punch. “Toybox” comes in heavy, with sharp riffs and a brooding switch up that’s straight out of Black Sabbath’s playbook. It’s energetic, raw, and impossible to ignore—a perfect opening statement for the EP.
Switching gears, “If Only” brings an upbeat, punky energy that channels the fun and urgency of early Green Day. With its catchy hooks and driving rhythm, it’s a track that’s as nostalgic as it is irresistible.
Things get gritty with “Long Lost Love,” a track that locks into a hypnotic groove reminiscent of Queens of the Stone Age. Its rhythm and grit make it a standout, showcasing the band’s ability to balance intensity with a killer groove.
The 4th track lives up to its name—it’s pure adrenaline. With the weighty grunge vibes of Soundgarden and the eccentric energy of Jane’s Addiction, “Hit the Gas!” is a pedal-to-the-metal anthem perfect for blasting at full volume.
“Superman” slows things down with introspective lyrics and heartfelt melodies that evoke Blink-182’s “Adam’s Song.” It’s emotional, raw, and the perfect note to end the EP on, leaving listeners with something to think about.
What makes Sorry for the Inconvenience so special? It’s the band’s undeniable chemistry. Growing up together has given them a unique connection that shines through in every riff, rhythm, and lyric. These songs aren’t just music—they’re moments in time, shared memories, and late-night jam sessions brought to life.
With Sorry for the Inconvenience, Out of Order is making a bold entrance onto the punk rock scene. They’ve got the talent, the energy, and the heart to honour rock’s legacy while carving out a path that’s entirely their own. This EP is just the beginning for a band with a bright future. Keep your eyes on Out of Order—they’re going places, and they’re bringing punk rock along for the ride.
