“Dreaming Dog” - Antaeus

Let’s get this out of the way: Dreaming Dog is an album made for dogs. Yes, dogs. But give it a listen and you’ll quickly realize—it’s also for you. And your stressed-out nervous system. And your over-caffeinated thoughts. This album might just be one of the most genre-defying, heartwarming, and scientifically-backed music releases of the year, and it didn’t come from your typical pop machine or beat lab. It came from a dream: to soothe dogs, and along the way, soothe everyone else too.

The mastermind behind this charming and surprisingly emotional project is Amman Ahmed, founder of RelaxMyDog—a brand that has already helped millions of pets. But with Dreaming Dog, he’s taken things to another level entirely, partnering with GRAMMY-winning producer Antaeus and Daniel from Mosadi, a renowned composer known for conjuring deep emotional worlds with a few choice notes and textures.

The result is a gorgeously immersive listening experience that floats somewhere between ambient electronica, lo-fi chill, subtle reggae, and even whispers of Amapiano and New Age. It’s like a dream sequence scored by Brian Eno while your dog naps in the sun beside you.

What’s wild is how deep the science runs under the hood. This isn’t some hastily thrown-together “chill beats for pets” gimmick. Each track has been meticulously crafted using research-backed methods that cater specifically to dogs’ hearing and emotional triggers:

Tempos between 50–70 BPM — known to reduce canine anxiety. Soft, round bass tones — comforting but never overwhelming. Desensitization cues like fireworks and playground noise — introduced slowly to help pups adjust to everyday life. Smoothed-out high frequencies — because dogs hear way more than we do, and too much high end can be stressful.

But here’s the kicker: Dreaming Dog is beautiful for human ears, too. The textures are rich and cinematic. The melodies are hypnotic. The transitions between tracks feel like floating downstream on a gentle river made of synths, strings, and distant echoes.

A huge part of that emotional weight comes from the roster of insanely talented contributors:

Charu Suri, the Indian jazz pianist who sold out Carnegie Hall five times, brings a graceful, transcendent touch.

Erini, a Greek vocalist and former Cirque du Soleil performer, weaves ethereal vocal layers like lullabies from another dimension.

Joe Maldonado, who’s engineered for Pharrell and Nicki Minaj, brings that polished low-end magic.

Alex Psaroudakis and Chris Sulit, GRAMMY winners with ears of gold, take care of mastering and mixing duties, ensuring every frequency is just right.

Perhaps the most poignant aspect of this album’s creation is its emotional core. Daniel from Mosadi had just lost his beloved dog when he began working on the project—a bittersweet coincidence that added a real sense of heart and purpose to every note. What started as functional music for pets transformed into a healing ritual, not just for animals, but for their humans, too.

Dreaming Dog also marks a big milestone for RelaxMyDog as it joins forces with Create Music Group, bringing its mission of animal-centered wellness to an even bigger global stage.

Dreaming Dog is more than just “music for dogs.” It’s a soundtrack for slowing down, for healing, for being. So put it on, lie down next to your pup, and let it wash over you. You’ll be surprised who ends up snoring first.

Listen with your dog. Or without one. Just listen.
