Jonny Morgan is back — and he didn’t just bring a guitar. He brought the thunder.

After earning a loyal following with his introspective acoustic roots, Jonny’s upcoming single, “Another Heartache”, marks a massive sonic shift. Gone are the quiet laments of the coffeehouse circuit — this one rips the door off the hinges with a runaway-train energy that crashes somewhere between Exile-era Rolling Stones, roadhouse blues, and southern-fried Americana with a punk sneer.

If you’ve ever wanted to hear what heartbreak sounds like when it’s amped to eleven and wearing a leather jacket, look no further.

Recorded live at East Iris Studios in Nashville during a literal snowstorm (-15°C in Tennessee), “Another Heartache” is anything but cold. Jonny and his band The Moral Support lit a fire in that studio — the kind that melts snow and singes eyebrows.

The chemistry crackles. You can hear it in every stomp, slide, and smirk. It’s live-wire rock with a heartbeat, captured in a single breath, not pieced together on a DAW.

And let’s talk about that gearhead candy: the Fender Jazzmaster once owned by Jimi Hendrix makes an appearance here — and it sounds like it. Add in a Hammond organ cameo from Gabe Lee, and you’ve got a track soaked in vintage cool and born for vinyl.

“Another Heartache” is about what it sounds like: love gone sideways again. But this isn’t a sob story — it’s a strut down heartbreak lane with middle fingers up and sunglasses on at night.

Jonny’s vocals are raspy, unrestrained, and joyously defiant. He delivers tongue-in-cheek lyrics with the confidence of someone who's been burned one too many times but still came out dancing. There’s storytelling here, sure, but it’s told through sideways glances and rock 'n' roll bravado, not diary pages.

Sonically speaking, influences include: The Rolling Stones’ raunchy rhythm, The Clash’s rebellious bite, Tom Petty’s melodic backbone and Chris Stapleton’s southern soul.

…all thrown into a jukebox, shaken hard, and lit on fire.

The slide guitars absolutely wail. The organ adds depth without ever getting churchy. The rhythm section doesn’t miss a beat — driving the whole thing forward like a muscle car on a desert highway.

This isn’t just Nashville rock with a British twist — it’s the best of both sides of the pond. Jonny flew in his team from the UK, joined forces with US session legends, and created a sound that feels global and timeless. It’s loud. It’s loose. It’s lived-in. And it just plain rocks.

Producer Taylor Raynor and engineer Andrew Boulliane helped shape the chaos into something that still punches but never feels polished past its soul.

Jonny Morgan proves with this track that he’s not just a songwriter — he’s a frontman with teeth. “Another Heartache” isn’t a sad song. It’s a loud, laughing shrug in the face of pain. It’s whiskey-soaked, road-worn, and deeply human. And above all — it’s a hell of a good time.

Put it on, turn it up, and let it blow your hair back.
