Sometimes, a song comes along at exactly the right moment, and Audra Watt’s “Daffodils” is one of those rare gems. This stunning, hymn-like ballad, releasing on March 21, 2025, was crafted with love and deep intention. It was co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Rebecca Lynn Howard (known for her work with legends like Dolly Parton and Patty Loveless) and Mary Browder.

“Daffodils” isn’t just another heartfelt track—it’s a musical embrace for anyone facing life’s toughest battles, particularly those battling cancer and chronic illness. Inspired by a moment of raw vulnerability—Kate Middleton’s 2023 cancer announcement, framed by a field of blooming daffodils—this song turns the powerful symbolism of daffodils (a global sign of hope and renewal in cancer support communities) into a soul-stirring melody.

With production, mixing, and mastering handled by multi-instrumentalist Spencer Broschard, “Daffodils” has a beautifully polished yet deeply organic and intimate sound. Spencer’s contributions on guitar, piano, and keys bring a warmth and depth that complement Audra’s delicate yet emotive vocals, which carry echoes of Alison Krauss’ signature ethereal style.

Audra’s story makes this release even more special. A late bloomer in the music industry, she only fully embraced her artistry in her 40s—a journey that mirrors the song’s message of unexpected growth and resilience. “Daffodils” speaks to anyone who’s struggled, who’s been knocked down by life, and who’s looking for that reminder that brighter days are ahead.

“I wanted to release Daffodils because in 2025, the world needs hope and beauty more than ever. This song is my reminder to anyone facing a life-altering diagnosis that even in the darkest times, the strength to overcome and the promise of brighter days are within reach.”

Recorded in Spencer Broschard’s home studio just outside of Nashville, the process was just as meaningful as the song itself. As a newer vocalist, Audra leaned into the guidance and support of Spencer’s coaching, allowing her voice to shine in a way she never expected. The result is a genuine, deeply felt vocal performance that makes “Daffodils” even more moving.

With a full record dropping later this summer, “Daffodils” is just the beginning of Audra’s journey—but it’s a powerful first step. If you’re looking for a song that wraps you in warmth, lifts your spirit, and reminds you that hope is never far away, this is it.

Get ready because “Daffodils” isn’t just a song. It’s a moment.
