Seattle-based singer-songwriter Josh Jensen is back with his third solo album, This Is Where We Landed, a deeply personal and sonically rich Americana record that reflects love, loss, and the journey in between. Produced and engineered by Luke Rain, the album captures nearly two decades of musical camaraderie between Jensen and Rain, and it shines through in every note.
With a mix of heartfelt storytelling, raw emotion, and lush instrumentation, This Is Where We Landed was recorded through late-night sessions in 2024, featuring a talented lineup of guest musicians. Alex Capron and Evan Earhart bring the brass heat with their horn section, while Sunnie Larsen’s violin adds depth and soul. Matthew O'Toole fills out the sound on mandolin and bass, and Shauna Ward lends her voice and guitar skills to round out the album’s warm, organic vibe.
Released on March 7, 2025, This Is Where We Landed is a record born from personal experience. The album explores themes of love, family, wandering, and death, largely inspired by Jensen’s personal journey, especially his wife’s battle with breast cancer. Music became a way to process those emotions, resulting in an album that’s deeply introspective yet universally relatable.
Standout tracks include: "Birdhouse" a song inspired by a poem Jensen wrote during a sunrise in 2005, this song is a meditation on memory and change."Dusty Roads and Broken Dreams" – Dubbed the album’s murder mystery song, this track carries echoes of "Long Black Veil" with haunting storytelling and rich harmonies.
With nine original tracks and a remix, there’s something for everyone, from foot-stomping grooves to soul-stirring ballads.
This Is Where We Landed was recorded at Luke Rain Studios in Seattle, WA, marking an evolution in Jensen’s recording process. After his 2022 album Moon Time was recorded on his phone, this time around, Jensen took things up a notch—diving into a proper studio setup with Rain’s keen production skills guiding the way.

Luke Rain’s approach to recording is nothing short of meticulous and magical. He works section by section, capturing multiple takes and weaving them together like a sonic tapestry. If something sparks inspiration, he rewinds, reworks, and polishes until it’s just right. That dedication to perfection has given This Is Where We Landed its rich, immersive sound.
Jensen has been bringing these songs to life with a series of intimate home shows leading up to the album’s release. He kicked off the celebration with an album release show at Tim's Tavern on March 8, followed by a special songwriter showcase at Conor Byrne Pub in Seattle, alongside Hannah Wyatt (Sunday Cowboy), Nick Drummond, and Davin Michael Stedman (Staxx Brothers).
On top of that, Jensen has teamed up with Washingtones Records for physical distribution, and vinyl copies are being pressed using eco-friendly PET record technology from Good Neighbor Records. Fans can expect pre-orders to go live in April, with records shipping in May.
For Jensen, music isn’t just about making songs—it’s about creating moments that last. “Seeing the immense love and support around the release of 'This Is Where We Landed' is a culmination of many years of playing from the heart and putting in the grind to make these beautiful moments really shine.” he says.
With This Is Where We Landed, Josh Jensen invites listeners into his world—one filled with stories, emotions, and a whole lot of soul. Don’t miss this album—it’s a journey worth taking.
