Manchester’s own Shape of Water are back—pushing limits, bending genres, and crafting sonic landscapes that defy definition. Formed in 2018 by Rox Capriotti and Luca De Falco, this electronic art rock duo have been making waves with their unique fusion of rock, electronic elements, and immersive atmospheres. If music had no boundaries, it would sound a lot like Shape of Water—fluid, unpredictable, and completely captivating.

Before they were Shape of Water, Rox and Luca first connected back in 2004 in their hometown of San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, where they started their first band, The Lotus. Their creative ambition didn’t stop there. In 2015, they took a leap of faith, relocating to Manchester, UK, and reimagining their musical identity. The result is Shape of Water—a project that explores deep human emotions, societal issues, and political critique while refusing to be confined to any one genre.

Their debut album, Great Illusions (2020), produced by Paul Reeve (Muse, Beta Band, Supergrass) and mixed by Sky Van Hoff (Rammstein, Kreator, Caliban), earned them critical acclaim from publications like Classic Rock, Rolling Stone.de, and Metal.de. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit just as they were gearing up to promote it live—but instead of letting that stop them, they adapted.

In 2021 they reimagined their music on the Lockdown On Mars EP and released a live-streamed EP, Livestream From Mars, recorded during their virtual shows.

After the pandemic they hit the road, opening for bands like Radkey, Bad Touch, and Christian Death, and playing UK festivals such as Call Of The Wild, HRH Sleaze, and Heaven & Hell Festival 23.

In 2022, their second album, Amor Fati, was released via Eclipse Records, taking a deep dive into determination, free will, and the darkness within.

Not ones to shy away from the experimental, they dropped a Halloween double single, featuring the eerie original “A Ghost In Manchester” and a haunting rework of “Mr. Sandman” that would make even the bravest listeners shiver.

2024 saw them release covers of Sting’s “Russians” and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” showcasing their ability to transform well-known tracks into something entirely their own. They released their first-ever song in Italian, a cover of “Amandoti” by CCCP – Fedeli Alla Linea, capturing its dark, sultry energy. They also unleashed “The Silence Of The Lambs”, their heaviest track to date, recorded at NoiseBoy Studios in Manchester and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering.

With each release, Shape of Water continue to evolve, proving why Classic Rock Magazine hailed them as “potentially huge” and why the New Wave Of Classic Rock community calls them “phenomenal.” Their BBC Introducing Lancashire feature only further cemented their status as a band to watch.

Shape of Water aren’t just about music—they’re about an entire creative vision. Rox and Luca design their own album covers, visuals, and promotional materials, making every release deeply personal and unique.

“NAKED" is a track that oozes sensuality, intensity, and raw emotion. With haunting melodies, deep pulsating beats, and an atmosphere dripping in desire, this song isn’t just about intimacy—it is intimacy. The tone is dark, seductive, and hypnotic and the sound is a perfect fusion of moody electronic rock and cinematic passion.

As 2025 looms, so does their highly anticipated third album. With their fearless creativity, signature genre-blending sound, and electrifying live performances, Shape of Water are proving that fluidity, reinvention, and raw authenticity are the future of rock.

So, whether you’re a fan of Muse, Depeche Mode, or boundary-pushing alternative music, it’s time to dive into the world of Shape of Water—where the music flows freely, and the possibilities are endless.
