‘I’ll Be Away’ by The Way Out Of Here: Review

Pablo Amador is stepping into the spotlight with his debut single as a solo artist, ‘I’ll Be Away’—a soulful, gritty rock anthem inspired by the sounds of John Mayer and Red Hot Chili Peppers. This track marks the revival of his project, The Way Out Of Here, which Pablo originally conceived as an instrumental endeavor. Now reimagined, it serves as a platform for his original songwriting, starting with a song deeply personal yet universally resonant, exploring themes of mental health and the challenges of long-distance relationships.

‘I’ll Be Away’ shows off just how talented Pablo really is. The track mixes introspective, heartfelt lyrics with killer rock vibes, featuring a hook that’ll stick in your head and an epic guitar solo outro inspired by John Frusciante. It’s got that perfect balance of raw emotion and polished sound.

Born in Mexico City, Pablo started drumming at just seven years old. By 18, he was in Los Angeles studying at the Musicians Institute, soaking up all kinds of styles and expanding his skills. After the pandemic, he made the leap to London to get his master’s degree in Music Performance at ICMP, and that’s where his career as a session drummer really took off.

Pablo has been drumming for some amazing projects —Young Fatigue (recently on Radio 1) and Bastie, performing recently at Victorious Festival alongside Wet Leg, The Kooks, and James Bay. As much as he loves working with other artists, Pablo is now channeling all his experiences and skills into something completely his own.

‘I’ll Be Away’ was recorded at Zig Zag Studios in Woolwich, with production help from Ula Wodarz and mixing/mastering by Santiago Abad. Pablo pulled a Dave Grohl move and played almost every instrument on the track himself, with Ula contributing the synth for that extra layer of atmosphere. It’s a real labor of love, and you can hear it in every note. Pablo’s already working on a math-rock-inspired EP, which is shaping up to be just as unique and exciting as his debut.

With ‘I’ll Be Away,’ Pablo isn’t just dropping a track—he’s making his mark as a solo artist. Whether you’ve been a fan of his drumming for years or you’re just discovering him now, this is your chance to hop on board.

‘I’ll Be Away’ is out now on all major streaming platforms
