‘Lesson’ by Someone Called Sarah: Review
"Lesson,” by Someone Called Sarah, is a true gem from her album Summer Snow Globe. It’s a dreamy, mesmerising track that perfectly captures the album’s vibe—stunning vocals, haunting harmonies, and a delicate mix of dream pop and indie acoustic goodness. It’s the kind of song that pulls you in and stays with you, showing off Sarah’s talent for making music that’s both deeply personal and totally relatable.
What makes Someone Called Sarah so special? She does it all herself. Every song you hear is written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced by her, all under a loft bed in her bedroom. That DIY spirit shines through in her music—it’s raw, authentic, and packed with heart. While her style is rooted in the classic singer-songwriter vibe, Sarah loves to mix it up with touches of pop, rock, and electronic sounds, creating something truly unique.
Sarah’s love for music started early. She first picked up a clarinet in elementary school, and her passion only grew from there. Over the years, she taught herself to play just about anything she could get her hands on—flute, saxophone, guitar, piano, and more. By 2017, she had a Bachelor’s degree in Music, focusing on Composition and Vocal Performance. She started teaching music the next year and now shares her knowledge of over 10 instruments with students of all ages. Teaching and creating music go hand in hand for her—it’s all about spreading the love.
February is set to be a big month for Sarah—with the release of her new single, ‘A Post-Human’s Reverie, Pt. 1.’ She is also being featured on the ‘Women of Substance Music Podcast’ on February 17th.
With her album Summer Snow Globe and tracks like “Lesson,” Sarah proves that music made with passion and purpose can hit you right in the feels, no matter where it comes from. It’s heartfelt, beautiful, and will stick with you long after the music fades.
