Legend, Patti Zlaket, is clearly in the middle of a moment. The second installment of her three-part deluxe-edition reissue series, Bliss [Deluxe Edition] is about to drop, and it’s got all the good stuff: remastered audio, long-lost gems and heartfelt stories.
If you’re someone who appreciates a seasoned artist revisiting their past with fresh ears and fearless honesty, this one’s for you.
Originally recorded in San Diego with a band Patti had been playing with at the time, Bliss has this rare, alive-in-the-room energy to it—like you’re eavesdropping on a jam session that just happened to turn into something magical. Zlaket herself says they just “basically hit the record button and jumped into the songs,” and you can feel that spontaneity all over this record.
For a self-professed perfectionist, this was a leap of faith—and clearly one that paid off. Even now, listening to the newly remastered version (courtesy of Blake Morgan), the tracks are still dripping with authenticity. There’s no artifice here—just pure, soul-fueled music that makes you feel something real.
The bonus track “Fractured Fairy Tales” is a whimsical, offbeat nod to the quirky segment from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, and it’s just as delightfully weird as it sounds. Patti took inspiration from the absurd, slightly twisted charm of those retro cartoons and turned it into a song that fits perfectly into the Bliss universe.
It’s a reminder that behind Patti’s deeply emotional songwriting is also someone who doesn’t take herself too seriously. There’s a playful heart in there, and it’s beating strong on this track.

What makes this reissue hit even harder is where Patti Zlaket is in her career. With 35 years of experience, a catalog that spans genres and decades, and time spent on both sides of the mic (as a solo artist and a commercial jingle singer)— she’s finally got the momentum—and the team she’s always deserved.
The fact that she’s paired up with Meridian (ECR Music Group) and releasing these deluxe reissues ahead of her new album next year makes this feel like more than just a re-release. It feels like a reintroduction. And a powerful one at that.
