Track Dogs are not just another folk band. They’re the musical version of a backyard barbecue hosted by a flamenco guitarist, an Irish poet, and a bluegrass fiddler — all while a brass band crashes the party. Their new double album Tracks Laid, Tracks Covered is a full-throttle celebration of 20 years spent fearlessly blending Americana, folk, Latino spice, rootsy soul, and genre-pure joy.

This isn’t just a “best of.” It’s a musical scrapbook, a victory lap, and a love letter to the road, the fans, and the songs that have defined their wild ride so far.

The album is a showcase of original songs, including previously unreleased gems like “Brandy” and “Easy,” and long-standing live favourites like the absolutely electric “Ruby,” the heartfelt “This Old Heart,” and the crowd-pleasing “All of the Above.”

It’s a nod to their influences, live jams, and new material that keeps their sets—and hearts—fresh. You can tell this band has never stopped exploring, evolving, and embracing new textures.

These aren’t just dusty tunes pulled from the archives — they’re re-polished, re-loved, and now fully dressed to party.

At this point, genre isn’t really the point for Track Dogs — atmosphere is. You get sun-drenched harmonies, foot-stomping rhythms, soulful trumpet lines, and melodies that move with fluid grace between Spanish plazas, Irish pubs, Appalachian porches, and New Orleans backstreets.

Think—The Mavericks meet Mumford & Sons at a Havana street party, with a pinch of Calexico and a twist of José González.

“Ruby, Are You Mad At Your Man?” is a high-energy, high-emotion barnburner that makes you want to dance, cry, or text your ex. Possibly all three. Watch the video here, it rips.

“Amor de mi Vida” is a romantic, lush, latin-tinged groove that feels like a moonlit slow dance in Seville. Track Dogs flex their bilingual muscle and emotional range.

With “Beauty In The Mud”, it’s pure lyrical honey. It’s about finding light in messiness, magic in the mundane — something Track Dogs do better than most. It's as poetic as it is danceable.

“All of the Above” is anthemic, open-hearted, and meant to be shouted back at the stage with 300 other people. This track feels like a toast to the whole band’s journey.

Currently on a UK tour (and selling out shows left and right), Track Dogs live is where the magic happens. This album feels almost like a thank-you to those fans — the dancers, the dreamers, the ones who’ve been in the crowd since day one. If you've never seen them live, this record is a solid preview of what you’re missing.

And with their 20th anniversary on the horizon in 2026, this release is the perfect pre-party — celebratory without being self-indulgent, retrospective without getting stuck in the past.

In a music world obsessed with hype cycles and genre boxes, Track Dogs offer something real: community, craft, and the joy of collaboration across borders and backgrounds. This album feels like what happens when four lifelong friends throw a musical reunion, full of stories, shouts, laughter, and a couple of tears. It’s fun, sincere, diverse, and beautifully made.

So raise a glass, hit play, and get your boots ready. The Dogs are running, and this time, they’re bringing everyone along for the ride.
