“Saturday Sessions” - The All's Eye

If you’re into psychedelic jams, soulful throwdowns, or raw analog magic caught in the moment, Saturday Sessions by The All’s Eye is about to become your new obsession. This trio—Ari Joshua on guitar, Ben Atkind on drums, and Kris Yunker on organ—are serving up two genre-blurring tracks recorded live and direct at Barbershop Studios, and it's nothing short of a spiritual experience. No fluff, no fillers—just pure, heart-pounding musicianship caught in one take. You can feel the energy radiating through every note.

This release hits different. It’s warm, it’s gritty, it’s soulful—and the improvisation is off the charts. Ari Joshua’s guitar tone is drenched in vintage fuzz and gospel soul, dancing between sweet reminiscence and spaced-out exploration. Atkind’s drumming is tight but fluid, anchoring the vibe without caging it, and Kris Yunker’s organ brings that perfect old-school fire—equal parts church revival and acid trip. Think a cosmic mashup of Medeski Martin & Wood and Khruangbin, with a pinch of Pink Floyd when things get wavy.

You’re not just listening—you’re in the room with them. And with Emmy-winner Matt Rifino behind the board, it’s no wonder the mix feels both raw and cinematic. The accompanying multi-camera video only enhances the energy. If you're the kind of person who misses live sessions that breathe and stretch, this is your jam.

“Gramama” is a standout—soulful, sacred, and deeply personal. It’s a gospel-tinged tribute to Ari Joshua’s late grandmother, Granny Queenie, who used to ghostwrite sermons for her husband. The track kicks off with that hypnotic, train-beat rhythm that feels like it’s journeying through generations, with melodies that rise like a prayer and fall like a memory. It’s not just music—it’s ancestral storytelling set to groove.

“Say What You Wanna Say” was originally meant for a boogaloo session, but in the hands of The All’s Eye, it morphs into this edgy, jazz-rock fusion with sharp improvisation and a touch of psych weirdness. There’s freedom in every phrase—it’s about breaking silence, unearthing truth, and letting your freak flag fly in the most musically literate way possible. Ari’s guitar rips through the space, while Kris and Ben push the tempo into a full-on sonic sermon.

There’s something transcendent happening here. This isn’t your average trio; The All’s Eye taps into that sweet intersection of feel-good groove and cerebral exploration. Saturday Sessions isn’t polished to perfection, and that’s the point. It’s dirty in the best way—analog warmth meets digital edge, with just enough spirit to crack open your heart. It’s the kind of music you play loud with your eyes closed, letting the swirl of keys, rhythms, and reverb-soaked solos carry you to a better place.

These tracks aren’t just musically rich—they’re lyrically loaded too. “Gramama” leads with, “How lucid and beloved seem those days of which I covid”—a poetic, slightly surreal reflection on memory, lineage, and love in the face of time and distance. Meanwhile, “Say What You Wanna Say” is about breaking emotional chains, tapping into truth, and channeling it from some higher cosmic source. Big feels, big themes.

Catch these guys live if you can. They’re hitting the East Coast this April—Brooklyn on 4/11 with Blahsum, and Bridgeport on 4/12 with Kung Fu. Expect mind-bending grooves and spontaneous magic on stage. Plus, the studio version of “Say What You Wanna Say” drops May 9, 2025—don’t sleep on it.

And if you’re diving into the larger Music Factory Records universe this spring, get ready for a wave of experimental heat. Alongside Saturday Sessions, they’re rolling out Blurry Face, Reversible Submersible, and more, featuring folks like John Medeski, Billy Martin, Jason Fraticelli and some wild visuals by This is Blasé and Seb Niark.

Saturday Sessions is more than a release—it’s an invitation. To groove, to reflect, to connect. It’s for the jazz heads, the psych freaks, the soul diggers, and everyone in between. It’s jam music without the fluff, groove music without the predictability, and spiritual music without the preaching. A Bluegrass Boogaloo.

Plug in. Zone out. And let The All’s Eye show you something real.
