“flaunt you” - Robin Swann

There’s a moment in every artist’s life where the music stops being about the dream and starts being about survival.

For Salt Lake City’s own Robin Swann, “Flaunt You” is exactly that moment — a tender, gut-punch of a debut that feels like cracking open a private diary and setting it to the kind of melody that sticks in your head for days.

From the very first verse, you can feel it — the tightrope tension of falling in love while knowing you’ll have to hide it.

Robin wrote “Flaunt You” after one of those bittersweet dates where love feels simultaneously magical and forbidden — the kind of night that makes you believe in fairy tales but also reminds you how much of your own story has to be edited for survival.

Robin’s account of growing up queer in a conservative, immigrant household shows that it is an experience layered with guilt, fear, and invisible heartbreaks. It's a betrayal of your own truth every time you come home and have to silence the happiest parts of your heart.

“Flaunt You” isn’t just a love song — it’s an act of rebellion disguised as a pop track.

Produced by Robin’s longtime collaborator Xander Lee, “Flaunt You” finds that perfect sweet spot between indie bedroom intimacy and glossy mainstream magic.

Think of Taylor Swift’s lyrical confessionals, Sabrina Carpenter’s addictive hooks and Carly Rae Jepsen’s glitter-drenched sadness.

Xander's production gives Robin’s achingly honest lyrics a larger-than-life backdrop without losing any of the bruised tenderness at the song’s core. It's polished, but it still feels like it was recorded under a blanket fort at 3AM, which somehow makes it even more devastating.

Robin said it best: "I hope my mom doesn’t hear this."

That’s not just a throwaway joke — it's the soul of this entire release.

It’s terrifying to tell the truth when the people who raised you might not want to hear it. But it’s also necessary.

"Flaunt You" is the sound of someone choosing to live authentically, even if it means breaking their own heart a little bit along the way.

It’s a love letter to all the moments you wished you could shout your happiness from the rooftops but had to settle for whispering it into a song instead.

Representation matters.

Queer stories matter.

And songs like "Flaunt You" — messy, joyful, fearful, triumphant songs — matter because they give voice to the emotions so many of us were taught to hide.

Robin isn’t just singing about a relationship.

They’re singing about wanting the right to celebrate it out loud.

"Flaunt You" is a quiet revolution — a shimmering indie-pop anthem for anyone who’s ever loved someone in secret and dreamed of a day they wouldn’t have to.

It’s catchy, it’s heart-wrenching, and it’s important.

Put this one on repeat. Tell your friends. Tell your younger self that it’s going to be okay.
