If you haven’t heard of Micheal Fordays yet, that’s about to change. Hailing from Los Angeles with a DIY spirit and the soul of a sonic explorer, Micheal steps boldly into the light with his newest single, “The Odds Of Magic”—a track that glows from the inside out. Dropped on April 25, 2025, it feels like something rare, intimate, and strangely healing.
At first listen, “The Odds Of Magic” is warm and inviting—vocals, guitar, and bass all played by Micheal himself—joined by Dave Klein on drums and keys. But underneath that accessible, rootsy foundation lies a far more intricate web of musical ideas.
Fordays isn’t here to chase trends or mimic influences. This isn’t retro for the sake of retro, nor is it alt for the sake of edge. Instead, it’s a personal journey in real time—built on nontraditional voicings, open chords, and tonal resonances that somehow feel both experimental and instinctive. The result is a sound that’s easy to love, but hard to pin down.
The recording process reflects the vibe: loose, organic, and purposefully human. It started as a simple scratch take—just guitar and vocals over a click track. But from there, the track grew naturally into a full-fledged arrangement, layer by layer: live drums, bass, overdubbed guitar textures, keys, and vocals, all tracked with patience and a deep commitment to making something that means something.
Dave Klein (a multi-talented player and engineer) kept things dialed in from the booth, handling the mix after performing on the track. The final mastering came courtesy of Nick Townsend, and the whole thing was birthed at the now-legendary Dave Klein Recording studio.
Lyrically, Micheal’s not trying to write radio jingles or Instagram captions—he’s tapping into something much deeper. He explains it best himself:
“I had been working with open chords, nontraditional voicings, and resonating notations and fell into this sonic dream. Lyrically, I wanted to pronounce the essence of the world as I felt it.”
It shows. The words hang in the air like lanterns, offering light but not demanding attention. The melodic movements are unexpected, yet deeply satisfying, and the song leaves a kind of resonance long after it ends—like the feeling you get watching a sunset you didn’t realize you needed.

“The Odds Of Magic” is the title track of Micheal’s upcoming release, and it carries that title with weight. It’s not just a song—it’s a statement of intent. An artist stepping into his own lane, playing by his own rules, and inviting us to listen not just with our ears, but with our whole hearts.
It also highlights Micheal’s talent as a multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer. There’s no flash here—just honest, deeply-considered music that lands somewhere between alt-folk, ambient rock, and a hazy kind of West Coast psychedelia.
Fordays on His Journey:
“I can’t stop. I’m a fisher of stars. I reflect my own journey and experiences. I sit in writing mode and something always flashes out.”
That’s the spirit behind this track—and really, behind all great art. Micheal isn’t just making music; he’s translating a life’s worth of experience into something shareable, something magical.
“The Odds Of Magic” by Micheal Fordays is what happens when a seasoned songwriter chases curiosity, not clout. It’s a shimmering, soul-searching piece of guitar-driven art that sits at the crossroads of vulnerability and vision. Think: sonic daydream meets spiritual journal entry—with killer musicianship throughout.
Don’t just stream it—soak it in.
